Microsoft to lay off Zune

Recently we can see many news about Microsoft's Windows 8, Microsoft puts much effort to promote Windows 8.  A few days ago, Microsoft announced the death of Windows Live brand, instead they will integrate it into the Windows system. Also, Microsoft now plans to lay off its Zune and focus on XBox, let XBox be the main entertainment service of Microsoft. XBox can provide  music and videos, it can also let users play video games.

What Microsoft wants to do is making users enjoy more interactions and entertainment with Windows 8.

Microsoft is working on its new music service and they plan to integrate it into the XBox.

Zune is a digital media brand owned by Microsoft which includes a line of portable media players (now discontinued), a digital media player software for Windows machines, a music subscription service known as a 'Zune Music Pass', music and video streaming for the Xbox 360 via the Zune Software, music, TV and movie sales, and the media software for Windows Phone.

Xbox Live is an online multiplayer gaming and digital media delivery service created and operated by Microsoft Corporation. It is currently the only online gaming service on consoles that charges users a fee to play multiplayer gaming. It was first made available to the Xbox system in 2002. An updated version of the service became available for the Xbox 360 console at that system's launch in 2005.It was announced on June 10, 2011 that the service is going to be fully integrated into Microsoft's upcoming Windows 8.
