10 modern technologies we will still use in 2030
Although there is rapid revolution for new technology, some technologies can survive with the passage of time. Here are 10 modern technologies which may continue to exist in 2030.
1. QWERTY keyboard
Speech recognition, handwriting recognition and gesture control input will become the trend for the next two decades. Nonetheless QWERTY keyboard input is still one of the most accurate way - although not necessarily the most convenient.
Although physical keyboard disappear on phones and tablet PCs, the real plastic key feeling will not be exceeded on laptops and desktops. It first appeared in 1878 and will continue to dominate.
2. Computer
Some people say that we are entering a post-PC era, but I totally disagree. Of course, people may spend more time on their smart phones and tablet PCs than traditional desktops and laptop. However, important work, especially the work involves multi-tasking, still need to be done on desktops or laptops.
By 2030, the size and shape of the PC may change. Some people even think that, because of the development of mobile processing technology, mobile phones and tablet PCs will replace the PC. But the status of the PC may not be so fast to be replaced.
3. USB port
It has been 15 years since it was invented, and we can not imagine what life will be like without the USB, it allows you to transfer data and power from the keyboard to your external hard drive and display. Some people think Intel's Thunderbolt interface will win, but USB is still firmly in the hands of the foundation of data interface.
4. Local storage
With cloud computing services becoming more convenient and faster and faster broadband, many people believe that in the future we will be accustomed to the use of a remote file.
But the speed of local storage will be far more than a remote drive, and it is more secure. If you want to run large programs, such as games or professional-level video editing application, you certainly do not want to use a remote drive.
5. JPEG files
Although bandwidth, processing power and storage capacity increase, we insist on using some of the old file formats, such as JPEG created as early as in the early 1990s. Although the high-end digital SLR cameras can generate uncompressed RAW images, it looks like or JPG more popular.
6. Lithium-ion battery
Many years later, the energy density of the battery will be reduced to a smaller space to accommodate more mAH and improve the battery life.
Many promising new chemical battery technology is being developed, but even if these technologies emerges, they still take many years to capture the market. For example, lithium-ion batteries became mainstream until the late 1990s, although scientists in the 1970s had already started to develop them.
7, HTML-based Web site
HTML has occupied the strong position of the website industry since 1991. Maybe there are HTML8 or HTMLX in the future, but ordinary HTML will not be replaced, at least now you can see the current website contents are with the HTML format.
8. Cash
Electronic wallet, phone banking, NFC, credit cards, these things are now filled with our lives. But can anyone of them replace the position of cash existing for thousands of years. Because we are used to pay cash and this way is the most convenient. Unless our technology allows that we can use the electronic money anywhere in the world - including street shoeshine Carpenter.
9. Wi-Fi
Since 1997, the 802.11 standard occupies a dominant position in Wi-Fi. All smart phones, tablet PCs and notebook computers are with a built-in 802.11g or 802.11n compatible band, every enterprise and family have a router to support these standards.
Today, the video stream from the laptop / tablet PC / mobile phone transmission via DLNA, WiDi technology even the upcoming Miracast technology. For the home theater. But Wi-Fi is still the most convenient, and it allows people to share files directly between devices.
10. E-mail
With Facebook, Skype, Google's instant messaging and the popularity of Twitter, some people think that e-mail will be replaced. As of now all formal official correspondence are still sent by e-mail, who will @ a person on Twitter with some work related affairs?
